S & W’s commitment has been to provide its customers with unsurpassed service and the most technologically advanced Pier to support foundations that have failed.
Proof of the superior capacity of the drilled concrete pier was confirmed by research completed in 2006 at the University of Texas at Arlington where the drilled concrete pier was compared on the same site across different seasons with those products that are being offered by our competitors. In fact, some of the most prominent Foundation Repair Contractors were invited to install their product for this research and witnessed testing that showed the drilled concrete piers provided in most cases over 5 times the vertical holding capacity of the: pressed concrete piles, pressed steel piles and helical piers. The following chart shows actual test results for 6 different products that are the most prevalent piering products offered by Foundation Repair Contractors.
Comparisons of Different Underpinning Methods Across All Seasons
(Footnote: W. Tom Witherspoon Doctoral research, UTA 2006)
As evident from these test results, the pier that provides the most capacity for support of a foundation is the drilled concrete pier, which has been the choice of S & W Foundation for over 20 years. |
